Outdoor & Indoor Community Pools Allowed to Open

Outdoor & Indoor Community Pools Allowed to Open

Published: July 3, 2020

The COVID-19 Pandemic has gripped the nation and world since the beginning of 2020 and has changed a lot of things. Even condominiums have been affected by executive orders shutting down playgrounds and swimming pools. Now that things in New Jersey are finally looking brighter, Governor Murphy issued an update to an Executive Order as of July 1, 2020 allowing pools (both indoor and outdoor) to open back up with safety protocols in place.

This doesn't mean your community will have the pool open right away. We have heard from residents in some communities that the pool in their communities will not open this year even though the government allows it. The reason told was liability. Every HOA has the right to make these decisions as they are trying to do whats best for all residents (as a collective). There may be other deciding factors like liability insurance coverage not willing to cover the additional risks during a pandemic.

If you a homeowner or considering buying a condominium this year, you may want to contact the HOA about access to amenities if that is a concern for you.
